Dear friends & family,
Peace be with you
! Am thankful for an uplifting Soup Kitchen session, held on 12 Aug 09.
Firstly, we’re grateful to a couple (who prefers to remain anonymous) for their kind and generous donation of a car (an MPV, to be precise!) to Trinity Soup Kitchen. The multi-purpose vehicle is extremely useful in that we can now transport the entire load of Sambar and rice tubs comfortably. Words cannot express our gratitude for their unconditional love and support towards this mission
!
Together with our new wave of volunteers (Iris & Jay, thanks for co-ordinating the task force!), the kitchen “chores” were completed well ahead of scheduled time. An hour before we left for the dormitory, we went to a chicken rice stall and collected 100 packets of chicken rice from a donor, Shawyn (great treat for the non-vegetarians!). So, off we went, loaded with Sambar, packets of chicken rice and bags & bags of bread/puffs!
In all, we served 366 hot meals, 100 packets of chicken rice, distributed the puffs/bread and about 140kg of potatoes (the bulk of which was sponsored…thank you, Mr Gupta!), tea and coffee sachets. Attached is an expenditure summary for your info. Trinity Soup Kitchen – Expenditure (12 Aug 09)
Come 26 Aug 09 (our next distribution), the MPV will be “in action”!
Keep very well & God Bless.
Best,
Janice
